Freshen Up for Fall – Bathroom Edition

For the Home· Organization

2 Oct

Let’s take time this week to focus on BATHROOMS!

Bathrooms can get out of hand so quickly in our house. With all the little hands digging around in my makeup drawer and cabinets who knows how long this will last, but freshening up all the areas always feels so good and keeps unnecessary things from piling up in drawers where they don’t belong.

I started by pulling everything out of the drawers and wiping out all the hair and makeup residue. With four girls in our home, it’s out of control how much hair I find! I also went through all of my products and threw out stuff I no longer use. I am in the process of switching over to cleaner products and minimizing what I use, but that is a blog post for a different day.

*One tip I have for you is to purchase drawer organizers to keep your products separated from your husband’s or just to keep like products together. I purchased the ones shown from Dollar Tree and they came in a pack of two! They have so many different sizes to accommodate different spaces.*

If you are joining me in Freshen Up for Fall, I would love to see before and after photos. You can head over to Instagram @theneverendingmama for more inspiration!

Happy October, friends!

Hi, I’m Kristen!

I am a follower of Jesus, a wife to my sweet husband and mommy to three beautiful little girls. My desire is to grow closer to Christ each day as I point my children to Him. Life is not perfect and I am a work in progress as He continues to shape me and refine me. I hope this can be a place of encouragement for you!

Celebrated 15 years (a bit early) in the Florida Keys ☀️🌴

Soaked in the sun and slowed down. Reflected on all God has done in our marriage and family and had FUN together.
Marriage is a gift. It’s something to be celebrated and also not taken lightly. Intentionality, communication and so.much.prayer. 💛 God is so good! Praying for many more years with this man. Lord willing 🙏🏻

I’m noticing a cycle - when May rolls around I begin to question. “Did we do enough? Could they have gotten more? Should we have done something different?” I’m thankful that I have a few years under my belt to have noticed this pattern. The lies from the enemy try to creep in, but we’re speaking against them this time!

Homeschool mom, you did it! Another year under your belt! There’s always more that could be done. It’s never going to feel 100% complete, but you learned with your kids, you fostered relationships, you put in the work and time. You struggled at times and you persevered and now it’s time to celebrate.
Don’t believe the lies that they didn’t get enough.
God’s got them.
Surrender them to Him and trust Him to do the work.
He called you to this and He will be faithful to complete the work.
It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
Rest.
Breathe in His goodness.
Celebrate all that was accomplished this year!

We all put our faith in something - our money, health, job, spouse, our pastor or an influencer, fill in the blank ______.
Any worldly thing we put our faith in will let us down.

It is only our hope and faith in Jesus that will never let us down. His promises are forever.

Jesus says time and time again in the Bible: “It is your faith that healed you” and “Your faith has saved you.”

It is not our good works. It is not the religious rigamarole — it is our faith! Stop striving, instead seek Him.

Where is your faith?

It’s a simple “yes” to Him. It doesn’t always come without doubts so we say, “Lord, I believe; Help my unbelief.”
He is faithful to answer.

What we put our faith in matters for eternity.
🤍🙏🏻

A few things I’ve learned: There will always be g A few things I’ve learned:

There will always be gaps in your children’s education no matter how you choose to school them.

You know your kids best and can direct them in their God given abilities and strengths.

Your love for your children will cause you to go to great lengths to make sure they have what they need.

Will it be perfect no matter what you choose? No.

This is not a call for every family to homeschool as I believe it is a conviction and each family chooses what is best for them. It was not in our plans and yet God has called us here for these years. Forever? Maybe not. But right now. And if you’ve had the nudge my encouragement to you is that YOU CAN! Will it be easy? No. But it will stretch you and grow you.

Comfort can create forgetfulness of God’s faithful Comfort can create forgetfulness of God’s faithfulness.

Success can make us believe we can do things in our own strength.

Discomfort can cause us to go deeper.
